Ok, now things are starting to get personal. I’m a lifelong fan of the paranormal, and UFO’s are way up on the list. I’ve always wanted to see one myself, but alas I’ve not had the pleasure yet. Now there’s been not one, but two sightings right in my neck of the woods, and I missed out.
First reported by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), the nation’s premier UFO reporting organization, on Oct. 12th ten coal miners working the night shift on an above ground job in Marmet, West Virginia, not too far away from me, looked up into the sky to see three massive, football-field sized triangular craft flying in a line about 500 above them. They described the objects as being outlined in white lights and as making absolutely no noise whatsoever. They watched for about four minutes as they moved slowly away over the treeline.
Just two weeks before, in Elkins, WV, also not far away, two witnesses reported seeing the same type craft, again absolutely silent, but with only three lights, one white and two orange.
Sightings of these huge triangle craft have become quite common across the U.S. in recent years. But in this case there’s probably a good explanation.
For over a decade it’s been reported that the U.S. military has been testing a heavy-lift blimp, triangular in shape, about the size of a football field, and capable of lifting and transporting very large cargo loads. The program is classified but reports have leaked out. And in December the military plans to launch another huge, triangle shaped blimp, this one intended to operate at high altitude and provide early warning of missiles or hostile aircraft over large regions.
It’s a safe bet that people are seeing these heavy-lift blimps being tested or even used to move cargo already. And coincidentally, the West Virginia Air National Guard 130th Airlift Wing is based just down the holler a ways in Charleston, the direction these witnesses say their UFO’s were heading.
So maybe I can relax. These probably weren’t alien spacecraft after all. But I’ll still get a chill if I see one silently pass overhead one night.
