Following the January 4, 2015 game between the Cowboys and the Lions where critical mistakes by NFL Refs lead to the Cowboy’s victory over the Detroit Lions. Foul! There have been plenty of experts, outside of the NFL who has reviewed the tapes, and fostered opinions that the Ref responsible for picking up the flag for pass interference was wrong. Big deal, bad calls happen all of the time. However, it is more than just a bad call? Many people seem to think it is, especially after the VIP of Officiating was caught partying on the Cowboy’s owners party bus. At the very least that is bad form; but what if…
What if the two incidents are connected?
The upcoming game between the Cowboys and the Packers should provide the only opportunity this season to see if the Cowboys bought their way into the finals. This game is do-or-die, just like the last game. Win or go home crying. Well, last game they did not go home crying, though their ascension is questionable.
• Green Bay is ranked better than the Cowboys.
• Their PF score is higher than the Cowboys, meaning that Green Bay made more passes for their team.
• The Green Bay PA score is lower than that of the Cowboys, meaning that the Cowboys created more points against themselves.
The Margin of Victory is in Green Bay’s Court with a -6.5 point spread.
This is a game where the Cowboys are going to have to “find new ways to get it done.” However, it may be that those new ways are not so new at all. Every fan should be watching this game so they can see how the flags and calls play out each second of the game. This is a time for fans to step up and throw their own flags.
If last week’s game was any indication of the integrity of the game of football, then it proves that the NFL has lost control of its own team as well as the teams it oversees. Should we be watching Green Bay vs. Detroit? Yes, yes we should. If the Cowboys bought their place, then there is way too much money at stake for them not to continue to win by any means possible, even if that means cheating or bribing the officiating team. What’s the deal people?
Keep your eyes peeled because this is the last opportunity that the Cowboys have to show their cards.
What if it WASN’T the Cowboys, but the NFL?
What if the NFL is playing favorites not because of the team that could win, but for the team that could bring in the highest rating for televised sports. Who makes the most money when games are played? It is the NFL. What if, the corporate NFL is hedging the bets to gain the best matches to earn the highest ratings? The next year’s contract for televising NFL games would be huge and larger than the contract for this year.
What if it wasn’t the cowboy? What if it was the NFL looking for more income in 2015-2016? Would the matchup between the Lions and Green Bay have been as interesting as the matchup between the Cowboys and Green Bay? Nope, not so much.
It could also be that there is nothing fishy going on at all. What say you?
