American author Harper Lee has died at the age of 89 years old today. She is known the world over for her brilliant masterpiece, To Kill A Mockingbird that was opted into a 1962 movie, with Gregory Peck playing the lead role of Atticus Finch.

Publishing house HarperCollins released a statement confirming that she “died peacefully last night,” but gave no further details.
To Kill A Mockingbird was one of my personal favorite movies of all-time that dealt with racism in the south very strongly.
