What up fam! Giving you my thoughts on my Corsair Strafe RGB Keyboard. I’ve had this keyboard for about 6 months now. Before I was using the Razr Blackwidow Ultimate and honestly until the Strafe I really didn’t think I was going to fall in love with another keyboard as much as I did the Blackwidow. I also wasn’t really informed about Corsair peripherals, only the Ram options, so I had no pre-conceived notions of the Strafe when I picked it up.
Packaging first, the overall color scheme of the Corsair packaging is what originally made me gravitate to Corsair. The black with pops of yellow is just candy for me eyes. The box is not overly crowded with information and a very well placed picture of the keyboard right in the middle. Aside from the exterior, the extra parts that were included were pretty cool and a really nice addition to the overall purchase. They have keys(Q,W,E,R,A,S,D,F) designed to let you know you are on the right key with a raised portion and a different texture which are included with a tool to remove the original keys. This is the first time I have seen a company besides Razr care about adding something worthwhile in the box aside from just the product. Honestly, Corsair is leading the race now for me.
Now that the packaging is to the side, it’s time to feast your eyes on a homely yet uniquely attractive design. My personal favorite part about the design is the form factor of the keys. The way they are placed with low edges for easy cleaning. Stylish and practical? A winning combination if you ask me. You might ask me “Well, DeShawn it looks cool and all but what about wrist support?” Well look no further because Corsair has added a soft touch wrist rest in the box!
Performance you ask? With the German made Cherry MX mechanical switches you are on par with industry leading key switches. In my experience, I use the Strafe for both gaming and writing, heh “writing”, and I love the length of activation and the snappy return of the keys. The responsiveness of a key press is so smooth and with the silent keys it makes for a pleasant sound when pressed, or smashed depending on your salt level that day.
This keyboard is really one for the books. It has unique style, quality hardware, and something I haven’t touched on yet, customization. Let me be clear here, every key can be individually changed to whatever color you wish. With presets from rain, pulse, and type ripple which is what I use, there is no better way to customize a keyboard to fit your PC setup. The Strafe RGB has really become my favorite computer peripheral and I really enjoy it being on my desk.
10/10 would recommend!
