It’s official – Katy Perry will be the headliner for the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show on February 1st. The game will be held at the huge, super-modern stadium at the University of Phoenix in Arizona.
Rumors have been rampant for weeks that Perry was on the short list to be the main attraction, but the NFL didn’t make the announcement until late Sunday evening.
After several years of showcasing older acts earlier in the last decade, like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty, in recent years, the last three to be exact, the NFL has been focusing on younger stars like Bruno Mars and Beyonce.
Perry released her hit album Prism last year which quickly went platinum.
