He who points a finger at another has four pointing back at himself. Fingers are bad enough, but imagine dealing with the entire body. Once those skeletons fall out of the proverbial closet, the bones are tough to gather, and tougher to put back.
Former GOP Staffer Elizabeth Lauten can attest to this first hand. Certainly, everyone has read her tweet directed towards the Obama girls that was spurred on by what seemed to her as their lack of interest during the White House’s annual turkey pardoning. She chastised the girls, saying that should “show a little class and respect the part that (they) play” as First Daughters. She further chided them to dress like they deserve respect, not as if they were at a sports bar.
Speaking of sports bars……..
Ms. Lawton might want a mulligan on that post. Social media is being flooded with raunchy pictures of her with a long necked beer bottle so eloquently hanging from her mouth. Further reports reveal that Ms. Lawton’s words of advice about showing class, respect, and finding appropriate role models despite being in those “awful teen years” were spoken through her own missteps, as she was arrested for shoplifting at age 17 and for speeding/running a red light at age 19. Those teen years can be quite dreadful, can’t they?
The girls did, however, receive legitimate words of wisdom from former First Daughter, Patty Davis. She called Lawton’s attack despicable and encouraged them not to dignify her with a response. She complemented them for being the smart and well adjusted girls that they are.
People have every right to criticize elected officials. They don’t always do things that benefit the majority. However, regardless of how people feel about the policies of President Obama, his children, or any elected official’s children, they should be off limits. Knowing this and expressing such criticism in a constructive manner shows the class that Lawton referenced, but obviously missed.
