The son of Jackie Chan has been indicted on drug-related charges this past August. Jaycee Chan faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison for his role in what Chinese officials describe as “sheltering others” with the intent to use drugs.
Sadly for his famous father, Jackie, who is also the 2009 Anti Drug-Ambassador for Taiwan and China. Jaycee’s arrest and pending conviction also comes at an awkward time for Jackie. The trailer for Dragon Blade is due out in the new year.
The action by China to clean up its morals resulted in a string of arrests over drug use, drug trafficking, and even hiring prostitutes. How true the charges are, remains vague and may be more politically motivated as Taiwan continues to act out in its bid for independence.
Jackie Chan has expressed deep shame over his son’s arrest and the nature of his suspected crime. It begs the question as whether or not this is a new behavior for Jaycee.
