Popular female vocalist from the 50’s & 60’s Gogi Grant has died at 91. Her family announced yesterday she passed away Thursday. Her hit song “The Wayward Wind” took Elvis Presley off the top spot on the Billboard charts in the late 1950’s.

“The Wayward Wind” would go on to stay at No. 1 for six weeks and sold more than one million copies. Billboard also voted Grant the most popular female vocalist of the year.

Though she had many hits, my favorite song she recorded was “My Man” which is the video above. Give it a listen and I think you will agree it was a flawless vocal.
