You really want a puppy, which is a wonderful idea, you can raise the puppy the way you want it raised. Some things to remember:
1. They will grow up
2. They LOVE to chew
3. They need training
4. They need attention
5. They LOVE to chew, LOVE It.
Puppies get their baby teeth, when they are about 6 months old they start getting adult teeth. They will chew on anything, you, your shoes, your purse, your sofa, your cable wires. They do not know what is not cool to chew on. All they know is they are cutting teeth and those teeth itch and gums hurt they need teething toys. You can even get ones that you can freeze that feel really good on those baby gums. Provide them with something to chew on and if you catch them with your shoe, take it away and replace it with the teething toy you bought them. They will get the point eventually.
Puppies grow up, they are super cute and adorable when they are small, and I believe they are super cute and adorable adults. BUT you may not. They will eat more, they will want more attention and they still may want to chew, if they are not played with and exercised. The adult dog will require training and will still want your attention and love just as much. They will find ways to act out if you are not paying attention to them, then it is your fault not theirs. Pets are a lifelong commitment.
Train that puppy as soon as you get it and it will become a well-mannered adult that you will enjoy having their love and companionship even more.
