Right now, fixate and focus about what you have in life. From the minutest of things, to the metaphorical mountains, whether good or bad, happy or sad. Did you fixate on what you have, or what you have not? Philippians 4:8 says Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any praise and virtue keep your mind on these things. God tells us how to focus and how to think because he knew how fragile your mental state would be if we did not.
We are visual creatures and we learn in a 3 dimensional world, but the heavenly realm is 4th dimensional. Sounds too far-fetched right? However, consider this, you have 5 senses; touch, taste, hearing, seeing, and smelling, yet most of us have a sense of humor, a sense of the decency, and a sense of timing. Sometimes I tell folks you don’t have any sense. There was even a movie called The Sixth Sense. God always intended us to work on a plane of optimism, giving credence to the acronym for hope. Having Only Positive Expectations. You could fill a stadium with what you do not have. So build on what you do have, because you can possess nots, thusly having not.
When we dare get outside of what God intended for our minds and focus on the have nots our minds become the devil’s playground. This is the leading cause of a lot of us dealing with depression, despair, dejection. Others have little to no compassion, limited understanding stemming from their past hurts, feeling and experiences. Feelings of failure, futility, and flaw.
There are some that just don’t and won’t. And others that have, or have nots. They will argue you down about the sky being blue. Like it’s a genetic predisposition for them to just think opposite. But here is a blessing in the lesson, and some hope for the nope, God has made it so you get it. Belief, makes you a have, versus a have not. In Matthew 13:10 The Voice Translation the disciples asked of Jesus: “Why do you speak to the people in parables”? And Jesus answered “The knowledge of the secrets of heaven has been given to you, but it has not been given to them. 12 Those who have something will be given more—and they will have abundance. Those who have nothing will lose what they have—they will be destitute. 13 I teach in parables so the people may look but not see, listen but not hear or understand. You will listen, but you will not understand; you will look, but you will not see.”
