Turns out having the most powerful man in America be a racist, bigoted, misogynist hasn’t really been a great thing for our nation. Go figure!

I am actually embarrassed to tell people I meet from other countries that I’m from the US… Don’t get me wrong, I love the United States, but this is not our best… not even close. Hateful, scared, racist, bigots can’t be who we are as a culture. We have to be better than this.

The lies, deception, and distractions have really been overwhelming. People are tired of having to keep track of every single new tweet… every tantrum, indiscretion, racist comment, and embarrassing act. Then there’s always the lingering fear that Trump could start WWlll with his antics. It’s as if our president were an immature middle schooler with access to the nuclear codes. And of course, all the lies from those fake news stations are just liberal propaganda to make Trump look bad, right? I think I speak for many when I say, we’re all getting really sick of this baloney!

One of hardest parts of Trump’s presidency is that every bill he supports has something in common: a cruel spirit of inhumanity. It’s hard to face the reality that, despite the continuous public outcry, America is at a standstill in terms of gaining equality for all. If we’re lucky, the public indignation will serve to at least stop our nation from regressing. Best case, the status of marginalized Americans will remain unchanged. I mean, everyone knows the US is not exactly the poster child of humanism, with our systematic racism, our shrinking middle class, mass incarceration, and our “not so just” justice system. But at least before, there was some hope for progress!

Whenever I think he can’t stoop any lower, he never fails to amaze me. And it’s the same obvious M. O. every time. Most of his proposals go something like this: Benefit the wealthiest Americans and their corporations… while telling the masses how great his plan is for them.

Trump’s newest thing is to get his recent tax bill passed. The claim is that it will save the middle-class tons of money… while solving all America’s financial problems.

Whereas, I have no doubt Trump’s new tax bill will save people tons of money, there’s a catch: You have to be one of the wealthiest Americans in the US in order to benefit from it! The plan is simple… The bill will roll back taxes for corporations and the wealthiest Americans and the middle class will pay for it. So, in typical con-man fashion, Trump has been presenting his plans at press conferences using his cliché spins, lies, fabrication, denials, indignance, and outrage in order to do ANYTHING but speak the truth!

To top it all off, the most critical part of the plan is not being discussion by Trump or the media. TRUMP fails to mention that IT IS YOU, the average American, who are paying for it! Now he MAY be correct when he says that you will be able to file your taxes yourself, using a postcard.

The whole post card stunt is yet another joke for his blind followers. He even shows examples of them at his press conferences. They are basically shrunk down replicas of the 1040 EZ tax form copied onto a note card. This is the form to use when you do not have ANY taxable income deductions!

Trumps tax reform is kind of a “reverse robin Hood” thing… Give additional breaks to the wealthiest corporations in America and force the middle class to PAY FOR IT by raising their taxes!

Trump has been going from press conference to press conference telling everyone that the bill is doing REALLY GREAT… and that EVERYONE LOVES IT! Obviously, anyone with a brain isn’t buying into his bullshit… Polls show the tax plan is extremely unpopular with 60 % of Americans saying it favors the ultra-wealthy.

Remember, many of the largest corporations do not pay a single cent in taxes, already! You know the one’s… those huge companies that hire thousands and thousands of people, refuse to pay them a living wage, and despite working 40-60 hours weeks… they still cannot put enough food on the table. Guess who ends up subsidizing the employees of big business with food stamps? WE DO!

Trump’s plan is to steal from the average American by removing common middle-class tax deductions and instead, give tax breaks to the ultra-rich. For example, interest from student loans will no longer be allowed as an income deduction for tax purposes. Large amounts of borrowed money accrued from costly school loans will continue to keep educated young Americans thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. But here’s the real clincher, if you are a graduate student who is getting free tuition in exchange for teaching undergrad classes, you will now be forced to pay taxes on the money you earned (although you will have never been paid a single cent!). You will graduate and owe taxes on money that never exchanged hands because you were basically bartering for your education. This is simply unbelievable!

One of the cruelest parts to Trump’s tax bill is his proposal to eliminate mortgage interest deduction. But don’t be too alarmed, there is one tax break that isn’t going to be eliminated and that is a tax break for golf course owners… GO FIGURE!! Trump’s bill will also eliminate the estate tax, which essentially is a fantastic deal that ultra-rich people will use to pass on their wealth to their children… Know anyone who could use that?? ACHOOOOOTRUMP!

As you may recall, Trump refuses to show us his own tax filings like all the presidents have in the last 4 decades… This just keeps getting better and better (please note the heavy sarcasm here).

When Trump was campaigning, he was under a ton of pressure to show the nation his own taxes so we could tell what he paid, who he had business dealings with, and if there was a conflict of interest. Many supporters didn’t seem to care if he didn’t want to show his taxes… But think about this… Trumps campaign advisors decided that whatever is in his taxes would be so detrimental to him being elected that it’d be a better risk just refusing to show them at all…

So, the big question of the day is this: Just exactly how fantastic is this new bill TAX BILL going to be for Trump’s personal finances…? I can’t help but think that this is the moment Trump’s been waiting for. He gets to create laws that are perfect for himself and his family. What’s not to love? He gets to pay no taxes, keep all the write-offs for his golf courses, pay no estate tax on any of his properties, and still not have to show his income taxes. He will never have to tell the world who he does business with and how he is using the power of the presidency to personally benefit. Do you really think it’s a coincidence one of the ONLY write-offs that will be allowed just HAPPENS to be for golf course owner’s and private jets?

So, if this bill does pass in the Senate, … our tax money will not only be going to Trump’s wealthy friends and corporation owners, but DIRECTLY INTO TRUMP’S POCKET!
