Crime Is On The Increase: Learn Simple Steps To Keep Homes And Families Safe Over The Holidays – Breaking Book News

December 11th, 2012 CEO

Ask any cop and he will tell you that crime never takes a break – especially during the holidays! Crime has already increased around the country due to our down economy, but now experts tell us it’s on the increase in areas where crime was rare in the past. Add the approaching holidays to this scenario and things could get pretty grim for a lot of people.

Alan Young has made security and keeping people safe his life’s work and his expert tips and recommendations have made him a featured guest on top TV and radio shows because he shows how not to become a victim. Since many people leave town for the holidays it’s crucial they understand the importance of securing their home before they go, so that when they return their home and possessions are intact. This especially applies to people in more ‘upscale’ areas who have become a little complacent where crime is concerned because statistics now show these areas are being specifically targeted by criminals. Alan Young’s expert advice can make the difference between a memorable holiday and a devastating one.

“Police response time to a home alarm system is often over 20 minutes and most thieves can be in and out of a home in less than 5. Not only can they get valuables – but worse still, they could hurt a family member,” says Young. “The key is to keep them out in the first place.”

December 11th, 2012 CEO

A moving book about the similarities and atrocities of war through the ages in a clever, dramatic presentation; to be released Fall 2012

US Review of Books: “The more sensible approach to this opus is to be patient, exploring each within the context of a series of book club discussions or even an entire course offered to students of poetics, classical literature, history, or philosophy. Literary Inkling: “But By the Chance of War, a new and monumental work from Richard C. Lyons, is a book that encompasses both of these aspects, presenting the reader with a truly epic journey into the expansive ability of prose while encouraging our deep reflection on the subject within its pages.”

Midwest Review of Books: “But By the Chance of War is well worth considering for fans of quality poetry, highly recommended.”

The Sarah Kelly Music School: Where Students Get To Learn From Industry Greats – Breaking News

December 8th, 2012 CEO

While it has only been open a year, enrollment at The Sarah Kelly Music School, north of Houston, Texas, is already near full capacity. Owned by two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Sarah Kelly, the school strives to bring in top names to meet with students. Everyone is excited about an upcoming visit (in January) by Chris Sampson, Dean of USC’s Thornton School of Music, who will give out some partial scholarships to USC’s popular music course. To help meet the huge demand, Sarah’s school recently started offering online classes; now she can literally reach out and help anyone learn to write a song!

What makes this school unique is that apart from learning to play instruments, students actually get to learn to write their own music. Regardless of musical experience, students are usually playing songs after just a few weeks of lessons and writing their own soon after. They have a chance at being accepted into the school’s Artist Development Classes that focus on production, vocal training and song writing, giving them access to a studio where their songs are recorded by a professional producer. Instead of recitals, Sarah’s students actually get to experience real “gigs” where they get to know the feel of a stage performance. There are so many things that make this school exceptional and set it apart from all the others.

Laugh Or Else It Will Hurt – Breaking Book News

December 2nd, 2012 CEO

Given all the turmoil in our country today about the economy, our debt, foreign policy, you name it – there is only one possible solution, says satirist Alan Beck. Laugh.

In his new book A Southern Solution (Createspace), he follows a retired psychiatrist as he attempts to escape to Mexico and away from the chaos and corruption that is America. Despite being fiction, the satire features the only too-real current dysfunctional state of the nation.

“If you can’t laugh at it, it’s only going to hurt,” says Beck. “Conveying the message of our downward spiral is important as we seem to stall at any important decisions in our society.”

A Southern Solution is a dark satire about the disappearing American Dream. The main character’s plans for a lazy, margarita-fueled retirement are thrown into chaos when a zany cast of characters steps into the picture. Both the FBI and the Chinese government seem to have bigger plans for him, and Kopfklopper soon finds himself in a dizzying whirlwind of political intrigue. As he works his way through the mess, he finds the key to balancing America’s national budget without negatively impacting anyone, and now the clock is ticking as he decides whether to become the next big politician or to stick with his new life of leisure on the beach.

Going From Having It All To Having Nothing: A Journey Of Personal Awakening – Breaking Book News

November 30th, 2012 CEO

The Sabbatical (Createspace), by Frederick Pinto, presents important questions to a generation that wants to have it all despite living in a rocky, continuously changing climate. Pinto weaves his own experiences in the music industry and thoughts on where Western society is headed into a story of personal awakening after a young man loses everything he valued.

Charles Barca spent six years getting it all. Set in the landscape of the drug-strewn, head-banging clubs and the slick offices of the New Creative Elite, Charles was the wildly successful owner of an online music company, had a relationship with a hot artist girlfriend, and had achieved local celebrity status—all of which came crashing down in one day. Before long, he is without friends, love, or meaning in life after he is removed as the resident genius of the company he himself founded, and seeks sanity and purpose in the cynical worlds of modern art and business.

The Sabbatical covers the following months of Charles’ life as he deals with self-loathing, drugs, traveling and mingling with acquaintances, both old and new. He must come face-to-face with major personal decisions as well as with ones for his company, as papers need to be signed and major labels jostle for his attention. However, he will only find clarity miles away in Brazil, as the noise around him subsides and he engages in a more authentic form of deeper self-evaluation.
