The Mafia Chronicles: Kansas City Mobsters Blew Up Lefty’s Car, According To New Book

In his new book, former Las Vegas mobster Frank Cullotta points an accusatory finger at the people he says are responsible for blowing up Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal’s car.

The culprits: Kansas City mobsters.

Cullotta says Rosenthal had been on Kansas City crime boss Nick Civella’s “hit list” for taking public shots at casino regulators and for cozying up to federal investigators.

“Civella had heard that Lefty was getting friendly with some FBI agents and was afraid he might roll if the going got tough,” Cullotta writes in “The Rise and Fall of a ‘Casino’ Mobster: The Tony Spilotro Story Through a Hitman’s Eyes.”

The book, which Cullotta co-wrote with author Dennis N. Griffin, was published earlier this year.

The wind blew some luck in my direction (first line from the smash hit song Moonlight Feels Right written by singer/songwriter Bruce Blackman) and it sure did with me landing this exclusive interview with him for NewzBreaker. As an 8-year-old living on Miami Beach, AM radio being king, and a transistor radio a necessity, a song called “Moonlight Feels Right “hit the airwaves like a bullet. It played repeatedly in disc jockey rotations that summer, and to this day the song is still popular. Not only did it have catchy lyrics but it also had a solo by the late Bo Wagner. Wagner on marimba absolutely knocks your socks off.

In our interview, Bruce runs the rails and shows a great wit which if you read his posts on his FB page, you will see is a regular thing.

Most people have some type of Thanksgiving tradition, whether it’s playing football with the neighborhood kids, catching a new flick at the cinema or laying around like a fat cat with stretchy pants after feasting. My Thanksgiving celebrations over the years usually starts with a road trip, to me it’s not really the holidays without a late night road trip. Those road trips are precious memories; its hours of stories, conversations, arguments and music. My love for music was born on the road. I remember annoying my parents by playing the same song over and over again until I became the official road trip DJ. Before iTunes and XM Radio, I had mix tapes that turned into 100s of CDs. I remember shuffling through my CDs like playing cards before each road trip.

Beloved funny man Jim Nabors the star who played the clumsy deputy sheriff Gomer Pyle on “The Andy Griffith Show” and eventually starred in his own spinoff, has died at the age of 87. Nabors’ husband, Stan Cadwallader, told the Associated Press his longtime partner had died peacefully at home in Hawaii by his side.

“Everybody knows he was a wonderful man. And that’s all we can say about him. He’s going to be dearly missed,” Cadwallader said.

One of the most pathetic stories of 2017 is the Cold War Twitter fight between President Trump and the father of one of the UCLA basketball team players. The player (with two other teammates) was accused of stealing while in The People’s Republic of China. In such cases it is customary for the standing president to intervened. Trump purports to have done so and the player and his teammates were released.

How Americans celebrate Thanksgiving today is a far cry from its historical origins and that’s probably a good thing. The truth about Thanksgiving has little to do with the white washed version we learn about in school or the Disney fairy tales we grew up watching.
So, what is the “truth” about Thanksgiving? Well, that’s the thing… it’s really hard to say, since experts tell us there is a very limited amount of tangible evidence available today.

A letter written by the pilgrim, Edward Winslow, has been kept. In it, Winslow speaks of the celebration held somewhere between early September and early November in 1621. But, interestingly, if you go online, you’ll find almost as many historical “explanations” for Thanksgiving, as there are websites on the internet, or at least it sure seems that way. So, what is the “truth” and why don’t we have the facts about it?

David Cassidy, who came to fame as a ’70s teen heartthrob and lead singer on “The Partridge Family,” died Tuesday night, according to his publicist Jo-Ann Geffen. He was 67.

Cassidy had recently been admitted to the intensive care unit of a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, area hospital. He was in critical condition and suffering from organ failure before his death Tuesday, Geffen said.

“David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years,” she said.

Cosby Show Co Star Earle Hyman Dead at 91

Earle Hyman, a longtime stage and TV actor who was best known for playing Bill Cosby’s father on “The Cosby Show,” died last Friday at the age of 91.

Hyman died at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, New Jersey, according to Jordan Strohl, a representative for The Actors Fund.

Hyman enjoyed an international theater career that spanned decades.

I think I speak for many when I say, we’re all getting really sick of this baloney!

I don’t know what’s worse working out or the A-holes at the gym? My fitness life has been null and void for many months and my main excuse for getting back on track, is people at the gym. If I lived somewhere warm all year around I’d workout outside where I have plenty of space and minimal distractions, but I live in VA and we experience all four seasons. So, now that’s it’s cold as hell, I have to go sweat inside like EVERYBODY else. Recently, I joined a 24 hour gym, so I can go at times when less people are around to annoy me. Yes, it’s less people, but they still get on my nerves.

Like recently, I figured I’ll go to the gym at 10:30pm on a Friday night because no one will be there. Nope, nope, nope it was packed! None of these people have somewhere to be? No dates, clubs, the movies, Netflix and chill? I went from disappointed to pissed off as soon I walked in. Not only was it crowded but some inconsiderate ass people where having a Couple’s Pregnancy photo-shoot in the gym? Really?

Country music legend Mel Tillis, whose six-decade career in the music industry had him scoring hits such as “I Ain’t Never”, “Coca Cola Cowboy”, “Southern Rains”, and “I Believe In You” and who never let his stutter get in the way of him becoming a legend, died on Sunday, his publicist confirmed. He was 85.

Tillis passed away at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla., his publicist Don Murry Grubbs said. The music legend is believed to have died from respiratory failure after he never recovered from intestinal issues he has been battling since 2016. He leaves behind his longtime partner, Kathy DeMonaco, his six children and six grandchildren.

Ann Wedgeworth, who gained fame on film and Broadway before taking on the role of a flirty divorcee on “Three’s Company,” died Thursday at the age of 83 in the New York area after a long illness, her daughter Dianna Martin said.

Wedgeworth landed her first Broadway role in the 1958 comedy “Make a Million” and continued to take on stage roles for decades. She won the 1978 Tony award for best featured actress in a play for her performance in Neil Simon’s “Chapter Two.”

There aren’t many major establishments left in Las Vegas like the Tropicana where the country’s most famous (and infamous) mob-connected people once walked.

Though it has undergone expansion and renovation through the years, the 60-year-old Tropicana is not the most luxurious resort in town. It has a small gaming area and a sportsbook consisting only of a ticket counter — no television screens to watch the games on, no chairs. Sports fans are better off being at places like Caesars Palace or the Westgate.

But if you want to stand where the big names in Las Vegas Mafia history once stood, head to “the Trop.”
