Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols to Boldly Go Back into Space (Almost) – Breaking Entertainment News

2015 was already unfolding as a grim year for Trekkies. First the loss of Leonard Nimoy-our beloved Spock-in February, followed exactly eleven weeks later by the death of Grace Lee Whitney, the beautiful blonde who portrayed Yeoman Janice Rand in Star Trek’s first season.
Siderski’s Top Ten Great Cover Songs

Cover tunes are like movie sequels in most cases, rarely measuring up to the brilliance of the original. However, there are some exceptions to this, cases where the covering artist is able to remain true to the integrity and spirit of the original while, at the same time, successfully interjecting his or her own personal style. With this in mind, here are the ten cover tunes that I most enjoy listening to.

Sylvester Stallone to Auction Rambo and Rocky Memorabilia

Super fans of the multi-film Rocky and Rambo franchises will want to keep close watch on their superfluous expenditures for the next few months. That is because they will want to have plenty of cash on hand come October 14th and 15th when Heritage Auctions hosts the public sale of original movie props from the two beloved series. Besides John Rambo’s jacket and bowie knife, Sylvester Stallone will be parting as well with Rocky Balboa’s Italian Stallion robe, ring trunks, gloves, and Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Once in a Blue Moon: Keeping an Eye on the Sky

Astronomy nerds have had very good reason, not accounting for murmurs or arrhythmias, for their hearts to go aflutter of late. NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft, while traveling through the Kuiper Belt, did a fly-by of Pluto two weeks ago and transmitted back to Earth the first high-resolution photographs detailing geographical particulars of everybody’s favorite demoted dwarf-planet. Take that, Neil deGrasse Tyson.

“Wet Hot American Summer” Returns This Friday in Netflix Original Series “First Day of Camp”

If, like me, you were a fan of the irreverent sketch comedy troupe The State, which aired on MTV in the mid 90s, chances are you have also seen the 2001 summer camp comedy Wet Hot American Summer umpteen times.
Directed by State alumnus David Wain (Role Models, Wanderlust), it featured fellow cast mates Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black, Joe Lo Truglio and Ken Marino, as well as Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Amy Poehler, Judah Friedlander, and early screen appearances by Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, and Bradley Cooper. Before he was a tough-guy TV detective, Christopher Meloni turned in a hilarious performance as Gene, Camp Firewood’s deranged cook.
Murphy’s Top Ten George Harrison Songs – Music News

By Ian Murphy (Who else would it be by?)
When it comes to the Fab Four, the lion’s share of the attention and accolades tend to go to John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This adulation and praise is most assuredly warranted and understood, but let’s show a little love to the “Quiet Beatle”, George Harrison. George’s output (during and after the Beatles) was not quite as prolific as his more celebrated bandmates but at his best, he was right there with them.
Below is a list of my favorite Harrison tunes, with and after the Beatles. This one was tough to compile, as I only had ten slots to fill. George’s body of work was amazing, and his career long, so it really is impossible to narrow it down to ten spots, but I’ve tried my best. If you have a different list of George songs, I can be fairly certain it will not be as good as mine anyway, so take notes here and educate yourself!
